Laid-out tables, flowers, candles, spotlights, people smoking, and space heaters heating the outdoor spaces: typical wedding scenes, immortalized in photos and videos shared on social media by guests. However, the event's location caused a stir: two rooms in the State Archives of Naples, adorned with frescoes and shelves housing priceless historical documents.
The story was reported by Repubblica, which gave space to the concerns of the employees, also underlined by the intervention of the unions Cgil Fp, Cisl Fp, Confsal and Unsa Uilpa. The greatest risk, according to what was reported, would concern precious documents of the Kingdom of Naples dating back to the sixteenth century and historical frescoes, including those of Belisario Corenzio. The Chiostro del Platano, where the traditional cutting of the cake took place, would also have been involved in the celebrations.
The event, held on December 7th between the Sala Catasti and the Sala Filangieri, prompted Antonio Tarasco, general director of the Archives of the Ministry of Culture, to send a letter to the director of the State Archives of Naples, Candida Carrino, requesting "urgent clarifications".
According to an official statement, the Directorate General of Archives had already requested clarification on December 5th regarding the granting of space for two previous events, "Trame - il rosso corre sul filo" (Trame - Red Runs on the Wire) and "Hepatology: Liver, Crossroads of Prevention," also hosted within the Archives. "Should liability arise on the part of the State Archives of Naples, appropriate measures will be taken," the statement concludes.

It's strange that a marriage is held in a state archive, I don't know if it's right. Historical documents are important and should not be put at risk. I hope the situation will be clarified as soon as possible.
