Naples – Gaetano Guarino, a prominent figure in the list of the most dangerous fugitives, was extradited today by the Tunisia and conducted in Italy.

The operation, coordinated by the Attorney General's Office at the Court of Appeal of Napoli, ends his period of hiding, which began in 2019.
Guarino was sentenced to 22 years, 11 months and 13 days in prison for criminal association for the purpose of trafficking narcotics and psychotropic substances. The sentence was later recalculated to a total of 25 years and 10 days in prison.
The investigations allowed Guarino to be located in Tunisia, where he was arrested on December 21, 2021. The man, originally from Casal di Principe and resident in Melito di Napoli, had long been in the sights of the Naples DDA.
He managed drug shipments coming from Türkiye
Guarino, 57, was known to be a drug trafficking broker, capable of managing large quantities of heroin coming from the Turkey and destined for the Neapolitan market. His network of contacts extended to several countries, allowing him to organize the transit of drugs through Greece.
Guarino's extradition represents a major success in the fight against drug trafficking and underscores the authorities' commitment to fighting organized crime.
