In 2024, the Vesuvius Crater welcomed 617.524 visitors, an increase of 85.938 units compared to the previous year. The data, provided by the Vesuvius National Park Authority, shows that one of the most famous volcanoes in the world is capable of attracting large numbers of groups of tourists and visitors every year. And it also gives hope for 2025.
“2024 has been an extraordinary year for the National Park of Vesuvio, with a significant increase in visitors to the Crater: this result is the fruit of the constant improvement of the reception services, which have made the experience of our guests more accessible and pleasant", says the president of the Vesuvius National Park Authority, Raffaele De Luca.
“The growing turnout confirms Vesuvius as a privileged destination for visitors from all over the world, attracted not only by the imposing beauty of the crater, but also by the extraordinary biodiversity that the Park protects, by the unique cultural offerings of the territory and by the food and wine excellences that tell our story. It is a goal that motivates us to continue to enhance and preserve this heritage, making it increasingly central to sustainable tourism and the promotion of our territory”

The article talks about visitors to Vesuvius that have increased in 2024. It is a good figure but I wonder if the services have really been improved. Let's hope that next year there will be even more people visiting.
