Acerra – The pitbull that attacked a nine-month-old girl in Acerra on the night between Saturday and Sunday, causing her death, did not have a microchip.
Giulia, this is the name of the little victim, arrived already lifeless at the nearby Villa dei Fiori hospital, where her father had taken her on foot. It was the same parent who reported to the officers that the animal was unidentified.
The dog, a pitbull of about 25 kilos named Tyson, was taken into custody by the veterinary services of the ASL Napoli 2 and transferred to the Frattaminore kennel, where tests and checks are underway. A second dog belonging to the family, a small female mongrel, regularly microchipped, was also brought to the shelter.
Meanwhile, we await the results of toxicology tests carried out on the child's father, part of the investigation launched to clarify the dynamics of the tragedy.

It is a real shame that something like this happened. The loss of such a small and unexpected life makes you think about how important it is to have controls on animals, especially if they are purebred dogs like the pitbull.
