The second night of the Sanremo Festival saw the extraordinary presence of Bianca Balti, who was able to capture attention with a powerful and moving message. The model, who proudly displays the scars of her illness, said: "I didn't come to play sick, but to celebrate life." With an infectious smile and a dress that highlights her experiences, Balti represents an example of dignity and positivity for all those who face similar challenges.
The Magnificent Five of Sanremo
The evening was marked by the performances of five prominent artists: Giorgia, Simone Cristicchi, Fedez, Achille Lauro and Lucio Corsi, who won over the audience based on televoting and the judgement of the radio jury. Among the most emotional moments, the performance of Damiano David, former frontman of Maneskin, who paid homage to Lucio Dalla with the interpretation of “Felicità” stands out. Presented by Carlo Conti, the festival recorded a record debut with 12,6 million viewers and a 65.3% share.
Damiano David's Tribute
On stage, Damiano showed off an elegant look with a black jacket and satin bow, accompanied by Alessandro Borghi and little Vittorio Bonvincini. The latter, visibly moved, well represented the theme of the search for happiness presented in the song. "I have to thank Damiano for this wonderful song," said Conti, underlining the importance of the message addressed to the younger generations. After enchanting the audience with "Born with a Broken Heart", Damiano received the applause of his girlfriend, Dove Cameron, present in the audience.
Moments of Irony and Emotion
There was no shortage of moments of lightness and irony, embodied by Nino Frassica, who came on stage with his unique style, expressing his joy for his 39-year career in Rai. “At this moment, 119 percent of Italians are watching the festival,” joked the Sicilian comedian, then launching Cristiano Malgioglio’s biography with a caustic and funny tone.
The evening also saw applause from Simone Cristicchi, who dedicated his performance to his mother, and Giorgia, who enchanted everyone with “La cura per me”. The stage also welcomed other artists, such as Rocco Hunt, Elodie, and Fedez, who enriched the musical panorama of the event.
Finally, the evening opened with the New Proposals competition, which promotes emerging artists. Among the semi-finalists, Alex Wyse and Settembre will compete for a place in the final. Vale Lp and Lil Jolie launched a message against violence against women, while all the semi-finalists will participate in the Sanremo Giovani World Tour, which will stop in various cities in North America starting in May.
