Tomorrow, on the occasion of the Bruno Conti's 70th birthday, one of the symbols of Italian football, Rai Teche will pay homage to the champion with the publication on RaiPlay of the special program “Bruno Conti – A Life of Goals”.
The documentary re-proposes ahistorical interview of the journalist Gianni minà, in which the legendary striker retraces his career and reveals previously unpublished anecdotes about his personal life. Born in Neptune March 13, 1955, Bruno Conti has inextricably linked his name to the AS Roma, club he played for since 1973 al 1991, with the exception of two seasons in Serie B with the Genoa.
Wearing the yellow and red shirt, the playmaker contributed to the conquest of the second scudetto in Roma's history (1982/83), he won five Italian Cups and played the 1984 Champions Cup final. But his talent was also decisive at an international level: called up to the national team by CT Enzo Bearzot, has collected 47 attendance with Italy and proved to be a key player in the victory of the 1982 World Cup in Spain, thanks to his spectacular plays that made him one of the protagonists of the Italian triumph.
In addition to his football career, Gianni Minà's interview reveals previously unpublished details about his Conti's youthful passion for baseball. As a boy, in fact, Nettuno's talent was noticed by the American team of Santa Monica, who offered him a scholarship and a contract to play in the United States. However, on his father's advice, Bruno decided to stay in Italy and devote himself entirely to football.
The documentary offers an intimate look into his private life, recalling the period in which the young Conti, with a slim physique and apparently little suited to football, delivered gas cylinders to help the family, before becoming one of the greatest champions of his generation. His refined technique and spectacular style have always enchanted the public, so much so that Gianni Minà defined him “a Brazilian-style footballer”.

It's a fitting tribute to a footballer who has done so much for Italian football, but I don't know if the documentary can really do justice to his career and his successes, I hope it's interesting but also well done.
