Naples – At the Giffas ETS center in Bagnoli, “Terapia Sospesa” is starting, a solidarity initiative designed to offer free treatment to those who are in financial difficulty and cannot afford to wait the long times of public healthcare.
Through free donations, anyone can help finance therapeutic courses for people reported by public or religious bodies or who request them directly. The project is inspired by the Neapolitan tradition of the “suspended coffee”, transforming it into a gesture of health solidarity.
“We are proud to launch the 'Suspended Therapy' – says Patrizia Curro, president of Giffas ETS – an initiative created to guarantee assistance to those who need it, especially children and frail elderly people, often forced to wait months for essential care.
Through our website www.giffas.it or with an IBAN payment, anyone can make their contribution, even directly at our headquarters in via Coroglio 10/b”.
The project received praise from the deputy of Alleanza Verdi – Sinistra, Francesco Emilio Borrelli: “The idea of 'Suspended Therapy' is a virtuous example of solidarity that deserves maximum support.
Today, those in need of care may have to wait up to 24 months to access the public health service, an unacceptable wait for those in need of urgent interventions. In a time of bradyseismic crisis and with hospital facilities already overloaded, initiatives like this represent a concrete solution to decongest the system and guarantee timely assistance”.
Giffas ETS, always committed to assisting the most vulnerable people, renews its mission of supporting the community, offering an opportunity for care to those who would otherwise be left without answers.
