A load of 600 thousand euros hidden in the car, a young man with no criminal record at the wheel, and a trip on the A16 motorway ended up in handcuffs. A 26-year-old was arrested this morning after being found in possession of 50 kilos of hashish, divided into blocks and hidden in his Mercedes Gla.
The Flying Squad officers spotted him as he was traveling along the Naples-Canosa highway, before entering the A14 toward Bari. The intervention took place at the Bari Sud exit, just as the young man was paying the toll.
After checking the documents, the search came: in the vehicle, the heavy load of drugs, ready for the black market.
The profile of the arrested man is surprising: no criminal record, an apparently clean life, yet involved in large-scale drug trafficking. In addition to the drugs, the Mercedes and two phones were seized, now being examined by investigators to reconstruct any links with criminal organizations.
Possible connections with local clans are being sought
The 26-year-old ended up in prison on charges of possession for the purpose of dealing. With an estimated value of 600 thousand euros, the quantity of hashish would have been destined for the Apulian market or beyond.
Now the question is: was he an unwitting courier or a new face of Adriatic drug trafficking? Investigators are working to find out.

Reading the article makes me think how strange it is that a boy so young has a clean life and then is found with a large amount of drugs. The surprising thing is that no one expected such an arrest.
