A journey into the belly of the earth, among ancient concretions sculpted by time, and then the race through the rapids of a rushing river, among splashes, laughter and team spirit. This is the essence of Caving & Rafting, the new tourist proposal launched by Caves of Pertosa-Auletta, which combines nature, adventure and sustainability in an experiential format designed for the contemporary traveler.
The goals
The goal is ambitious: to attract new targets, to encourage people to stay for several days in the area and to offer a dynamic and authentic alternative, in addition to the classic tourist routes, enhancing the natural and cultural heritage of the area.
The journey begins underground, in a silent and fascinating world. The speleological visit - accompanied by expert guides - leads through tunnels and galleries shaped over millennia by water and time. The Pertosa-Auletta Caves, the only ones in Italy to cross a navigable underground waterway, reveal themselves in all their mystery. But the experience does not end underground: once back in the light, the adrenaline explodes with the rafting descent. On board a rubber dinghy, you tackle the rapids of a river that crosses an uncontaminated landscape. An activity that combines energy, collaboration and direct contact with nature.
Caving & Rafting
The Caving & Rafting offer is aimed at a broad and transversal audience: groups of friends, families with teenagers, but also active tourists and experiential travelers. The activity is accessible to those aged 14 and up and represents the ideal opportunity to experience a shared, authentic, out-of-the-box adventure.
Proposed as an experience spread over several days, the initiative is part of a broader strategy to promote the territory, which aims to create integrated itineraries and synergies with local realities: from food and wine to crafts, from historic villages to nature excursions. With Caving & Rafting, the Pertosa-Auletta Caves confirm themselves not only as a leading naturalistic attraction, but as a catalyst for a new way of traveling: sustainable, active, emotional.
