Quarto is preparing for an event that will rekindle the flames of terrorism and romantic betrayal, with the presentation of the novel “Ci siamo traditi tutti” by Maddalena Crepet, a story that does not skimp on low blows on youthful illusions and the horrors of the Years of Lead.
Participants and organization
At the meeting on Friday, May 16, scheduled for 18,30:8 p.m. in the confiscated Casa Mehari on Via Nicotera XNUMX, the author will be joined by the culture councilor Raffaella De Vivo, the journalist Ciro Biondi, and Giorgio Carandente, with readings by Arturo Delogu. The event is orchestrated by Luisa Perfetto of the “Artemide” association, promising an explosive mix of discussions that could set off some local nerves.
The plot of the novel
Published by Solferino libri in 2024, the book paints in strong colors a love story immersed in the chaos of terrorism and political conflict, not sparing crude details of broken loves, shattered hopes and unspeakable horrors. Crepet mercilessly dismantles the opaque patina of the past, offering a merciless look at a youth lost in illusory impulses, returning the Seventies as an Italian civil war full of disturbing surprises that could make those present reflect - or enrage.
The place and the extras
Casa Mehari, freed from the grip of organized crime, will also host the opening of the solidarity bar of the cooperative “La Quercia Rossa”, with the contribution of the guys from “La Bottega dei Semplici Pensieri”, transforming the evening into not only a cultural but also a socially controversial affair. Located in Quarto in the Phlegraean area of the Metropolitan City of Naples, this structure – inaugurated in 2022 and managed by a temporary association of purpose – confirms itself as a hot spot for debates that do not avoid the dark sides of Italian history.
