Isernia – A joint operation by the State Police led to the arrest and house arrest of four Chinese citizens, accused of being part of a criminal association aimed at exploiting prostitution. The investigations, coordinated by the Isernia Prosecutor's Office, revealed a vast business involving several cities between Lazio, Campania and Molise, with women forced into prostitution and locked in their homes.
According to the investigations, the organization generated a monthly turnover estimated at around 6 thousand euros, with over 110 clients who turned to the brothels managed by the four suspects each month. The women, all compatriots of the traffickers, were kept locked up at home and forced to suffer conditions of serious social marginalization, further aggravated by their illegal status.
The criminal network was dismantled by agents from the Isernia Flying Squad, in collaboration with colleagues from the Flying Squads of Latina and Naples.
The organization operated between the provinces of Naples, Salerno, Latina, Rome and Isernia, managing numerous brothels. The clientele was also recruited through the publication of online ads on various websites. To evade police checks, the women's identities were replaced, using other people's documents.
The investigations, conducted through wiretaps and video surveillance, outlined a hierarchical structure: the association was headed by a man, assisted by his wife, his sister and another woman. The latter were responsible for managing the announcements and appointments.
The exploited women were accompanied between cities by car and train by people who made sure they never left their homes, provided for their basic needs and collected the money they earned.
The arrests represent a major blow against human trafficking and the exploitation of prostitution, reaffirming the commitment of law enforcement to combat these serious forms of modern slavery.
