Naples – A solemn and well attended ceremony took place on Sunday 2nd June in piazza Plebiscito, where the was celebrated 79th anniversary of the proclamation of the Italian Republic.

The demonstration began with the remembrance of the fallen at Posillipo Mausoleum, to then continue with the flag raising and the reading of the message from the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari.
The highlight of the day was the delivery of the honors of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic to 27 citizens of Naples and the province, who distinguished themselves in the fields of culture, economy, civil and military service, and social commitment.
To complete the event, the spectacular performance of the Fire fighters, who have unrolled a huge tricolor flag on the facade of the Government Palace, accompanied by the Fanfare of the 10th Campania Carabinieri Regiment and by the Children's Choir of the San Carlo Theatre.
Among the authorities present were also thearchbishop of Naples, Cardinal Domenico Battaglia, together with hundreds of citizens.
"Naples has once again demonstrated that it is a welcoming and proud city, capable of honoring this important anniversary in the best possible way," commented Prefect Di Bari.

Between these, Alexander Iovino he is the youngest among those awarded. Class 1986, married and father of two children, is writer, historian, journalist and essayist. A Neapolitan awarded in Milan
Finally, a Neapolitan resident outside the region also received an honor: it is Roberto Race, currently Director of Institutional Communications at Deloitte, awarded the Officer title during the parallel ceremony held in Milan.
