Naples – Filming of Gomorra – Le Origini, the highly anticipated six-episode prequel to the famous Sky Original crime saga, has concluded in Naples. Produced by Sky Studios and Cattleya (part of ITV Studios), the new series explores the criminal rise of Pietro Savastano and will arrive exclusively on Sky and streaming on NOW from January 2026.
The series is an “origin story” that takes viewers back to Naples in the 1970s, a period of great transformation, marked by poverty and cigarette smuggling.
Created by Leonardo Fasoli, Maddalena Ravagli and Roberto Saviano, and distributed internationally by Beta Film, the prequel promises to reveal the youth of the future boss, with the first four episodes directed by Marco D'Amore, who also serves as artistic supervisor and co-writer, while the last two are directed by Francesco Ghiaccio.
