The book
Llith, her daughters and other witches explores the long and tormented history of women accused of witchcraft, drawing a common thread between mythological roots, popular wisdom and religious persecution. The narrative begins with the figure of Lilith, the first rebellious woman in Jewish tradition, and then focuses on the janare of southern Italy, wise women, healers and custodians of ancient herbal knowledge, who were demonized and persecuted as witches. Through a story rich in historical and cultural references, the text denounces the brutality of the Inquisition and the hypocrisies of the Catholic Church, offering a reflection on the relationship between science, superstition and power. The work connects the past and the present, showing how beliefs in occult forces and magic continue to live in new forms in contemporary times.
