Naples – Stefano Addeo, 65, German teacher at the “Medi” high school in Cicciano (Naples), has been suspended from teaching after his Facebook post in which he wished death to the daughter of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
The Regional School Office for Campania has started disciplinary proceedings against the teacher today. In an official note, the USR explained: "In order to guarantee the serenity of the school community, the General Director has ordered the optional precautionary suspension until the conclusion of the proceedings".
Addeo had published the shocking comment in recent days, unleashing a media and political uproar. After the controversy, the professor had retracted, calling his words "an unacceptable mistake", but the gesture was not enough to avoid disciplinary action.
The suspension is temporary: the fate of the teacher will be decided at the end of the administrative process. In the meantime, the school is trying to return to normality, while the case reignites the debate on the limits of freedom of expression and the responsibilities of educators.
