Guided tour
On this occasion, the Historical Archive Museum of the Banco di Napoli Foundation (via dei Tribunali 213/214) is offering a free guided tour at 18.30:25 pm, reserved for a maximum of XNUMX people with mandatory reservation until all seats are taken.
“We enthusiastically participate in this initiative — explains Marcello D'Aponte, president of the Banco di Napoli Historical Archive Museum Foundation — because archives are living places of knowledge, capable of dialoguing with the present and transforming themselves to tell the story and the ever-evolving society”.
The protagonist of the event will be Raimondo di Sangro, Prince of Sansevero: a multifaceted and visionary figure, famous for his inventions and his uncommon imagination that amazed his contemporaries.
During the visit it will be possible to admire original documents related to his extraordinary purchases and listen to his fascinating story within the multimedia path of the Museum. At the same time, participants will also discover the history of the ancient Neapolitan public banks, a cultural heritage of exceptional value included in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in 2023.
Curiosities such as the price paid by the Prince for the famous statue of the Veiled Christ, the mystery of the anatomical machines, the nature of a marine carriage and the world imagined by Raimondo di Sangro will be revealed thanks to the archives, custodians of memory and fantasy.
