Volla– Night of terror in Volla for a woman of Moldavian origins, victim of a brutal attack by her partner. The man, a 59-year-old Ghanaian, allegedly hit her with a kitchen knife at the height of an argument that broke out in the home they shared.
The men who stopped the man's fury were the Carabinieri of the Cercola Tenancy, who intervened after a report from some passers-by alarmed by the screams coming from the apartment.
When the military arrived, the scene appeared dramatic: the woman, in shock, had bruises, cuts and stab wounds on several parts of her body. The man, clearly agitated, reacted by pushing the police in an attempt to escape. After a long chase on foot through the streets of the town, he was stopped and arrested.
During the search, a kitchen knife still stained with blood was found on the 59-year-old. In the house, the military then seized a second knife and a cleaver. The woman was immediately rescued and transported to the emergency room of the “Del Mare” hospital in Naples. Her condition is serious but her life is not in danger.
Once in the barracks, the victim found the courage to tell of months of abuse, violence physical and psychological. She also reported having been forced to have sexual intercourse against her will several times. A horrifying picture that led to the man being charged with numerous crimes.
The 59-year-old, an illegal immigrant, is now detained in the Naples-Poggioreale prison. The charges against him are serious: sexual violence, mistreatment in the family, aggravated personal injury, resisting a public official, illegal possession of weapons and violation of immigration laws. The investigations continue to clarify any further responsibilities and to ascertain whether the victim had ever filed a complaint in the past.
