Intense law enforcement activity by the Carabinieri between Gragnano and Castellammare di Stabia led to the arrest of two fugitives, the seizure of drugs hidden behind a statue of the Madonna, and the discovery of knives on the street.

During a patrol of the area, conducted from early dusk, the Carabinieri of the Castellammare di Stabia Company carried out a series of important operations. During the patrol, a soldier located a man under house arrest inside a bar who was actually outside his home.
The 51-year-old man was immediately arrested for escaping. A second similar case involved a 45-year-old man, also arrested for violating house arrest.
Anti-drug trafficking efforts led to the reporting of a 20-year-old man from Gragnano who was found in possession of 14 grams of hashish, already divided into doses. Additionally, a 26-year-old man from Castellammare was stopped on the street with an 28-centimeter-long kitchen knife. Another drug seizure was also made in Gragnano, where 60 grams of marijuana were found hidden behind a ceramic Madonna statue located in a stairwell of a public housing complex.
Overall, nine drug users, including two minors, were reported to the Prefecture. Regarding road safety, the checks resulted in 19 traffic violations. In total, 317 people were identified and 167 vehicles were inspected. Checks will continue in the coming hours to ensure greater safety on the ground.
