The Municipality of Bacoli is ready to use the resources allocated by the Campania Regional Council to support residents and businesses struggling with the consequences of bradyseism. A portion of the funds will be allocated specifically to commuters, students, and workers who have suffered severe disruptions in recent years due to repeated rail service interruptions in the Phlegraean Fields.
Cumana and the inconveniences of commuters
Bacoli Mayor Josi Gerardo Della Ragione outlined the allocation of the resources. "We will immediately use the funds allocated to the Phlegraean Fields municipalities by the Regional Council for the citizens," he stated.
The reference is primarily to the situation experienced by thousands of people forced to contend with difficulties with rail connections. Tremors linked to bradyseism have led to numerous suspensions of Cumana train service over the past three years, with severe repercussions on daily travel to Naples.
For this reason, Della Ragione explains, a portion of the resources will be transformed into financial contributions for students and commuters, who face greater difficulties and inconveniences in reaching schools and workplaces.
Support for tourism, catering and commerce
Another portion of the funds will be allocated to businesses most impacted by the aftershocks. The focus is particularly on accommodation facilities, restaurants, and tourism businesses, which experienced a decline in attendance during the days of the earthquakes and the alarm among residents and visitors.
The goal, therefore, is to use regional resources to support the local economy, which has been hit by the indirect consequences of the bradyseismic emergency.
Transportation for Bellavista students
Among the measures announced by the Municipality is one for students at the Bellavista school. The school was closed after last May's earthquake and, pending safety measures planned by the Special Commissioner for the bradyseism emergency, the students will be housed in new, safe classrooms.
The funds will also be used to provide transportation for students to their new schools, thus ensuring the continuity of educational activities and reducing inconvenience for families.
"We will also invest these funds to ensure transportation to the new, safe classrooms for the children at the Bellavista school," Della Ragione emphasized, concluding by thanking the Campania Regional Council for "this important first step."
