Ranucci attack: Those arrested for the bombing will be questioned tomorrow.

Rome – "They will explain what the warrant was," said lawyer Antonio Falconieri, representing some of those arrested for the attack on Sigfrido Ranucci, which took place on October 16 of last year.

Following Valter Lavitola's revelations, the perpetrators had asked investigators to question them to clarify their position.

This morning, defense attorneys met in prison with their clients, Pellegrino D'Avino and Antonio Passariello, ahead of tomorrow's questioning by the prosecutor. "They will give their version of events and will certainly reiterate that they did not know Lavitola," said attorney Generoso Pagliarulo, who, along with his colleague Antonio Falconieri, is representing three of the four suspects arrested on June 30.

"Our clients want to talk and are determined to respond and clarify the charges brought by the prosecutor," the defense reiterated. The gang is charged with various counts of possession, carrying in a public place, and use of an explosive device, threats, and criminal damage, aggravated by the fact that more than five people acted in a mafia-like manner. Until now, the three men in prison and Marika De Filippis, D'Avino's partner, who is under house arrest, had exercised their right to remain silent, making only spontaneous statements.

Tomorrow, however, clarification is also expected regarding the scope of the warrant received by Gomes Clesio Tavares, believed by investigators to be the intermediary and still in Africa. This step, the interrogation request, comes after Valter Lavitola's confession. He admitted to instigating the attack, claiming he did it to increase the level of security for the Report host, but that he had imagined it using a different method: not a bomb, but a series of four or five demonstrative gunshots fired against the wall of Ranucci's home.

The statements of the two imprisoned perpetrators will weigh in on Valter Lavitola's preliminary hearing, scheduled for September 7th. At that hearing, the former publisher and entrepreneur has already announced his intention to make a voluntary statement.
