Terzigno – He threw a bag of garbage out of his car window while driving along a local road. A resident was identified and reported by the Terzigno Local Police. He was identified by footage from video surveillance cameras equipped with license plate recognition systems. Through the footage, officers traced the vehicle and the perpetrator.

He was charged with littering, had his driving license suspended, and had his vehicle seized.

"I want to congratulate the local police officers, led by Commander Francesco De Rosa, who identified the perpetrator and implemented the new, more stringent measures," said Mayor Salvatore Carillo. "Throwing a garbage bag from a moving car is a serious act, demonstrating an absolute lack of respect for the area and the entire community."

"What happened," he added, "should be a warning to anyone who thinks they can dirty Terzigno and get away with it. We've raised our vigilance and will continue to use all the tools at our disposal to identify and punish those responsible. We won't give up on this front."

The Carillo Administration has stepped up efforts to combat illegal waste dumping, increasing inspections and launching a program to remove and clean up micro-landfills, starting with border roads.

In recent days, the Carabinieri of the Terzigno station also stopped and reported two people caught unloading two sofas in an abandoned area near the Strada Statale 268.
