Naples – Warmer weather and mostly stable conditions remain today, Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in Naples and much of Campania. However, the weather pattern is expected to change rapidly in the coming hours, with cooler and more unstable conditions approaching.

According to the latest forecast from Meteo.it, Naples will be mostly sunny, with temperatures ranging from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius. The situation is similar in Salerno, where temperatures are expected to range from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius, while in Caserta, temperatures could reach 32 degrees Celsius. The weather is more variable in the inland provinces: thunderstorms are possible in Avellino, with a high around 31 degrees Celsius, while in Benevento, temperatures could reach 32 degrees Celsius.

Naples, stable day and calm seas

Over the Campania capital, skies will be clear or partly cloudy, with the possibility of some haze in the afternoon. High temperatures will range between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius, while lows will remain high, between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. Winds will generally be light and variable, with a westerly component in the middle of the day. Seas will be mostly calm or slightly rough.

3B Meteo also confirms the absence of significant precipitation in the capital: temperatures in Naples are expected to range between 28 and 31 degrees, with mostly clear skies and a 0% probability of rain.

Thunderstorms possible in inland areas

The picture changes as we move inland. The regional forecast indicates greater variability over the southern plains, where rain and showers, including thunderstorms, could develop in the afternoon. Over the northern and southern coastal areas, however, clear or partly cloudy skies are expected.

For now, the Campania Civil Protection Functional Center has indicated a green hydrogeological and hydraulic alert level, valid until 2:00 PM today.

The turning point comes on Wednesday

Today could represent a sort of transition towards a more marked change. Forecasts indicate a gradual easing of the heat starting Wednesday, September 9th, with the arrival of cooler air and a greater possibility of instability. Temperatures in Naples are expected to remain relatively mild, however, before a possible more marked drop in the following days.

In short, September 8th will still be a summery day in Naples and the Campania coast, with sunshine, heat, and calm seas, while inland areas are facing an increased risk of afternoon thunderstorms. But the heat is now numbered: starting tomorrow, the weather in Campania is set to change.
