The price to pay for silence and to settle the dispute that resulted in the attempted murder that took place last March 6th in the Luzzatti district of Naples, which led the State Police today to arrest an 18-year-old, a minor at the time, believed to be the perpetrator of the ambush.
According to investigations and wiretaps, the victim of the attack, closely related to members of a well-known Neapolitan criminal family, contacted the perpetrator, with whom he had been in contact for a couple of years, through another young man, offering him a deal: €40 in exchange for a promise not to reveal his name to investigators.
Investigators are charging the boy, who was held in the juvenile prison in Airola, in the province of Benevento, with attempted murder aggravated by mafia-related tactics. He was committed by tailing the victim, who was traveling in a rented Smart Four, near a club believed to be controlled by the Mazzarella clan.
Then there are the threats, also addressed to the entire family of the targeted man, and the possession of a .45 caliber pistol used in the ambush.
