Amalfi Coast, nightclub decides to close to ensure the safety of its guests and staff: "Safety and health come first, if you get sick and die you don't get anything out of the profits." Borrelli: "A courageous gesture that should be an example for everyone else. Responsibility is needed. Let's make sure we put the epidemic behind us and then we'll get to work to revive the economy."
Mamong numerous nightclubs in the Naples and Campania area that continue to host dance evenings where the absence of masks, no social distancing and overcrowding of people are the protagonists, there are those who decide to suspend the activities of their venue in order to guarantee the safety of citizens and their staff.
The Africana Famous Club in Praiano, on the Amalfi Coast, has in fact communicated, through a post on its Facebook fanpage, that it will close the club for this summer season due to Covid infections.
“The recent cases in Italy and those in nightclubs in neighboring Spain, which have caused a new lockdown in some countries of the Iberian Peninsula, were the main cause of our decision.
Moral responsibility towards our collaborators, our guests and our territory comes before anything else.” We read in the Facebook post published on the restaurant’s page.
"It was a decision that matured over time and we waited until the last moment before arriving at a definite verdict but in the end we found no other choice than to close the venue for this summer. We believe that the conditions are not there to combine safety and fun and so out of respect for our guests and our collaborators and the entire territory we have come to the conclusion that the only right move to make is to suspend all activities.
It will be an economic loss for us, true, but safety and health come first, if you get sick and die you will not get anything out of the earnings.
We hope that our gesture can shake the consciences of other club owners and their guests, so that we can start to be more responsible,” said Salvatore De Lucia, owner of the Africana Famous Club.
“A truly courageous gesture that we hope can become an example for all the other venues in the area. Those who open must do so safely and without allowing hallucinatory gatherings. What Mr. De Lucia says is the sacrosanct truth, the economy is important but less than human life, and we have been blaming ourselves on this since the first days of lockdown, we must preserve life and guarantee safety, even now. If we are all united and compact we will overcome this difficult moment, and when the pandemic is behind us we will roll up our sleeves to restart our territory. ”declared the Regional Councilor of the Greens-Green Europe Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
