IThe Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples has also strengthened this weekend, in the delicate transition of Campania from the "yellow zone" to the "orange zone", the system of checks aimed at verifying compliance with the measures to contain the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
In total, between Friday and Sunday, 1587 people and 216 commercial activities were checked between the capital and the province, with a total of 83 fines issued, including those relating to illicit situations typically of interest to the Guardia di Finanza (drug dealing and personal use of narcotics and cigarette smuggling).
The increase in controls mainly concerned the city of Naples, also following the decisions of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security: in particular via Partenope, piazza Plebiscito, via Chiaia, via Toledo, Calata Trinità Maggiore, Piazza del Gesù, Decumani and Vomero.
More specifically, the Pronto Impiego Group, also with foot patrols, in addition to avoiding gatherings, fined Italian citizens without masks on the seafront, while at the Piscinola metro station, in Piazza Cavour, in Piazza Bellini and in the Ponticelli district, it seized several grams of hashish and cocaine (5 young people reported to the Prefect).
The 2nd Group, outside the port area, surprised in the middle of the night in via Marina and via Cristoforo Colombo, 27 people, including a minor, coming from the cities of the province, who had been in Mergellina and other nightlife areas to spend Saturday; all fined, 3 of them were "repeat offenders".
The Torre del Greco Company has reported for threatening a public official, as well as fined for anti-covid violations, a 54-year-old "diehard denier" found on the Litoranea road without personal protective equipment.
The Giugliano in Campania Company, at the end of a tailing, arrested a 51-year-old in Mugnano di Napoli, seizing almost 23 kg of contraband cigarettes from a box in his possession.
The Castellammare di Stabia Company has ascertained that betting collection activities were being carried out at an internet point without a Public Safety license and without displaying the prohibited games table. A manager was reported, who was also fined for the formation of gatherings with the additional sanction of closure for 5 days.
Finally, the Pronto Impiego Napoli Group was also the protagonist of an episode that ended happily; in fact, while a patrol of “Baschi Verdi” was passing through Piazza Trieste e Trento, it was alerted by a young woman who had lost her 7-year-old son in Via Chiaia.
The financial police immediately began their search and, after having searched Piazza del Plebiscito, Via Filangeri and Via Chiaia itself, at the height of Piazza dei Martiri they managed to notice among the crowd a child, alone and disoriented, corresponding to the description.
The child was then returned to his parents, who in the meantime had been notified via the Operations Room of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza, in less than an hour and a half.
