GItalian students will be able to smile again in class without a mask if everyone is vaccinated. School in Italy ready to restart within a week with mandatory Green Pass and saliva tests.
“The rules are those that the CTS gave us: masks, distancing where possible, those basic hygiene rules that we have all learned in this time”, but “with one precaution: where there are classes in which everyone is vaccinated, the masks can be removed and people can smile again.” Thus the Minister of Education, Patricio Bianchi he announced yesterday at a press conference.
Even the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, reiterating that reopening in person “is an absolute priority”, had launched a sort of appeal: “I hope that soon we will have a high number of classes where everyone will be vaccinated, which will allow us to loosen the measures and remove the masks.”
And the numbers seem to prove the government right, given that the Prime Minister himself, Mario Draghi, communicates: “91,5% of teachers have at least one dose of vaccine.” Not only that, because according to estimates by the Minister of Education, Patrizio Bianchi, even vaccinated children “they are increasing more and more, especially between 16 and 19 years old. We have reached this stage by working very hard and focusing on people. We have done a long and silent job, our school is alive and can play its fundamental role”.
And for this “we have started the competitions for the next two years and we have made a commitment to start regular competitions every year”, in addition to having hired “8.700 ATA staff units and placed 59 thousand teachers”, in addition to the “13 thousand support teachers in schools”.
“Abolish masks in class if everyone is vaccinated? The data on the decline in vaccination protection in the youngest do not support this decision”. Thus the president of the Gimbe Foundation Nino Cartabellotta, following what was stated during the post-CDM press conference by the Ministers of Health and Education Roberto Speranza and Patrizio Bianchi, posting on Twitter a graph showing a weakening of the vaccination shield among the youngest.
