Guardia di Finanza checks in the neighborhoods of Ponticelli, Rione Traiano and Torre Annunziata with about a thousand people identified, drug seizures and reports.
The activity of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples continues, which, within the framework of the constant monitoring of the state of security in the urban and metropolitan area, has planned in the last month, by order of the Prefect of Naples Claudio Palomba, after consulting the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, a series of "High Impact" operations, intensifying controls both in the Ponticelli and Traiano neighborhoods of the capital, and in the districts with the highest crime density of the city of Torre Annunziata.
Nine hundred and forty checks were carried out; 55 fines were issued for drugs, cigarette smuggling and violations of the highway code. In particular, the “Baschi Verdi” of the Naples Emergency Team and the Giugliano in Campania Group, together with the financial police of the 2nd Metropolitan Operations Unit of Naples and the anti-drug dog units of the Capodichino Company, carried out 311 checks on people and vehicles in the Ponticelli district.
4 individuals found in possession of hashish and marijuana were reported to the Prefecture, 4 responsible individuals found in possession of hundreds of grams of contraband cigarettes were reported, 3 were fined for violations of the highway code.
In the “Traiano district”, in the well-known drug dealing square called “La 99”, the same Green Basques of Naples stopped a car, whose passenger, during the check, fled brandishing a weapon; the driver was stopped and reported for aiding and abetting, a Beretta pistol model 98-FS Caliber 9×21 with erased serial number and with 15 cartridges was seized, found nearby in a wooden box.
The “Baschi Verdi” of the Torre Annunziata Group also carried out 629 checks on vehicles and people in the “Penniniello” and “Provolera” districts. In particular, a person was discovered driving with a revoked license, therefore the motorcycle was seized; a second person was reported, found in possession of 1,4 kg of contraband cigarettes on a scooter; 8 people were reported to the Prefect for personal use of marijuana and hashish.
In the same “Provolera” district, a video surveillance system was also seized, hidden in the gutter of a building, consisting of two micro cameras connected with about 50 meters of cable to an antenna, hidden on a public lighting wire. The same was immediately removed with the help of the Fire Brigade.
Finally, on the outskirts of Caivano, near the “Parco Verde”, the Frattamaggiore Group seized a vehicle from a fugitive who eluded a roadblock by not stopping at the stop command given by the finance police; a switchblade was also found inside the car.
The interventions are part of the constant activity of general prevention and economic control of the territory carried out by the Neapolitan Fiamme Gialle, also in synergy with the other Police Forces, in order to counter widespread illegal phenomena especially in some areas of the capital, which remain the object of maximum attention by the Government Authority and the Police Forces.
