Deserted emergency tender for ASL Napoli. Dg, extraordinary intervention. Without hiring, no emergency room at San Giovanni Bosco
The ASL Napoli 12 recruitment notice for emergency doctors expired today at 1:XNUMX. It received only one application for admission, which must now be examined.
This was announced by the general director of ASL Napoli 1 Ciro Verdoliva, in days that remain difficult in the emergency rooms of Naples and that continue without being able to hire new staff.
“Within the scope of its competences – explains Verdoliva – I believe that every general manager must do everything, make every attempt, to succeed in improving the company that has been entrusted to him.
That said, despite even extraordinary efforts, sometimes reality imposes itself. It would be an equally serious mistake not to see the lack of availability of some professionals, in particular those related to the emergency-urgency area, which for this reason are in great difficulty.
I must note with bitterness that the call for applications for the recruitment of outpatient specialists to be assigned to the emergency room of San Giovanni Bosco, published last week and expired today at 12:00, has also gone unreceived. Or rather, we have received only one application for which we will verify the existence of the requirements”.
The goal of the ASL Napoli 1 was to open the emergency room of the San Giovanni Bosco hospital as soon as possible, which is not possible at the moment: “As things stand – confirms Verdoliva – despite the efforts made, not only in recent months, it is impossible to open the emergency room of the San Giovanni Bosco Hospital, but we will continue to reserve beds to serve the emergency-urgency area of the hospitals of the city of Naples with particular attention to the Cardarelli.
The emergency room is clearly an extremely delicate area of any health system and if, as in this case, the management difficulties are the consequence of an extraordinary lack of specific professional skills, I believe it is right to respond with extraordinary interventions. Otherwise the recruitment procedures will remain deserted for a long time and we risk falling into a cycle from which it will be difficult to escape in the short term.”
