I must note with bitterness that the call for applications for the recruitment of outpatient specialists to be assigned to the emergency room of San Giovanni Bosco, published last week and expired today at 12:00, has also gone unreceived. Or rather, we have received only one application for which we will verify the existence of the requirements”.

The goal of the ASL Napoli 1 was to open the emergency room of the San Giovanni Bosco hospital as soon as possible, which is not possible at the moment: “As things stand – confirms Verdoliva – despite the efforts made, not only in recent months, it is impossible to open the emergency room of the San Giovanni Bosco Hospital, but we will continue to reserve beds to serve the emergency-urgency area of ​​the hospitals of the city of Naples with particular attention to the Cardarelli.

The emergency room is clearly an extremely delicate area of ​​any health system and if, as in this case, the management difficulties are the consequence of an extraordinary lack of specific professional skills, I believe it is right to respond with extraordinary interventions. Otherwise the recruitment procedures will remain deserted for a long time and we risk falling into a cycle from which it will be difficult to escape in the short term.”
