Capri, Ennio Morricone and Astor Piazzola played by sasophonist Anders Paulsson and guitarist Jacob Kellermann.
The review "A Summer to Dream", which has so far enthused an increasingly participatory audience, will have as protagonists the saxophonist Anders Paulsson and the guitarist Jacob Kellermann on Friday 29 July at 20 pm.
The two musicians will demonstrate their talent by performing the most famous pieces by two of the most beloved and celebrated composers: Ennio Morricone and Astor Piazzolla.
The theme of the evening will in fact be dedicated to cinema and tango, from which the artists draw great inspiration, but there will also be forays into the Nordic world with Italian and world premieres, thanks to the original performance of pieces composed for the unique combination of their two instruments by Sven Hagvil and Thomas Persson.
Since his Carnegie Hall debut in 1992, Anders Paulsson has become widely recognized as one of the world’s finest soprano saxophonists. More than 60 composers have been inspired by his music, and his appearances range from concert halls to television stations around the world. In 2012, he was awarded the Royal Swedish Gold Medal “Litteris et Artibus” for his artistic achievements. Anders Paulsson is also an award-winning composer.
Praised for his “excellent technical ability and singing tone” (American Record Guide) and his “exuberant and forceful interpretations” (Dagens Nyheter), Jacob Kellermann has established himself as one of Scandinavia’s best-known and most versatile guitarists. In demand as a chamber musician, he performs regularly with string players and singers throughout Europe and has made critically acclaimed appearances and tours in Germany, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, China, Japan and South Korea.
The musical review of Villa San Michele continues every Friday, until August 12, presenting programs – selected by Bo Löfvendahl – that will range from classical to contemporary repertoire, thanks to the contribution of Progetto Piano and the patronage of the Swedish Embassy.
