Mystery in Pompeii: the body of a man was found in a shack in Messigno.
An investigation has been opened into the case. It concerns a 52-year-old Ukrainian laborer. The body was found lifeless inside a tool shed in Messigno, Pompeii, late yesterday afternoon after an anonymous tip.
The Carabinieri and the public prosecutor on duty at the Public Prosecutor's Office arrived on site Torre Annunziata (prosecutor Nunzio Fragliasso, deputy Matteo De Micheli).
After an initial external examination of the body by the coroner, some marks emerged on the neck, compatible with strangulation. It would therefore be a homicide.
This is, in fact, the crime hypothesis that investigators are working on. Even if, for now, no lead is excluded, not even that of a simple accident.
The body was transferred to the morgue in Castellammare di Stabia and remains at the disposal of the judiciary pending the autopsy.
In the meantime, investigators will hear the first witnesses and are checking the images from private cameras in the area to get some useful information for the investigation.
