Naples, Manfredi reopens the Molo San Vincenzo: 'Works complete in two years. It had been discussed for decades, in a few months a great effort was made.
“From the first Saturday in August there will be visits for small groups of citizens who, in this transitional phase, while the work is being carried out, will be able to go for walks. This pier has been discussed for decades, finally in a few months we have made a great effort”.
This was stated by the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, on the sidelines of the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Defense, the Municipality of Naples, the State Property Agency and the Central Tyrrhenian Sea Port System Authority, relating to the integrated project for the rationalization and functional enhancement of the San Vincenzo pier.
“Today's – highlighted the Minister of Defense, Lorenzo Guerini – is a great result. A virtuous example of collaboration between the Municipality, military structures and territorial authorities”. Manfredi then explained that "with the six million euros we will complete the access, which will be from Molosiglio, the renovation of the heliport, the start of work on the part of the actual pier. Together with the port authority we are finalizing a project and finding the funding, which we expect to obtain without major problems, for the renovation of the entire pier and the Bourbon shops. The goal is to make a large pier also for the docking of maxi yachts and create places of service and entertainment for citizens. It is clear that when you create such a long walk on the sea you also recover spaces for entertainment as in all the great sea capitals - Baltimore, San Diego - where one of the places of greatest influx is the sea district".
The time target for completing the entire intervention “is – the mayor underlined – two years”.
