August in Capodimonte, free Sundays and evening admissions. The Neapolitan Museum's summer initiatives with four exhibitions.
A weekend with four exhibitions that will culminate with free opening on Sunday. And with the nocturnal charm of the museum, intact throughout the month. There are many initiatives planned for August at the Reggia di Capodimonte, where visitors will be able to admire four exhibitions: “The bronze patriarch of the Caravaggeschi: Battistello Caracciolo (1578-1635)”, “Salvatore Emblema”, “Beyond Caravaggio. A new story of painting in Naples” and “Cecily Brown. The Triumph of Death” included in the cycle of focus exhibitions L'Opera si racconta.
On August 7th, instead, for the first Sunday of the month in which free admission is provided (as for all the cultural sites of the Ministry), it will be possible to visit the Museum and the Royal Wood of Capodimonte and the exhibition on Battistello Caracciolo set up in the Causa room.
The Real Bosco and the park will be open at the usual times, while the Church of San Gennaro and the Cellaio will remain closed; the third floor with the 19th and 20th century section, contemporary art and the Salvatore Emblema exhibition will also be closed. The museum rooms will then host, both Saturday and Sunday, piano concerts by Maestro Rosario Ruggiero and performances by the Compagnia Arcoscenico (Rodolfo Fornario and Antonella Quaranta).
Also much appreciated is the initiative to keep the Capodimonte Park open to citizens throughout the month, even in the evening, to allow those who remain in the city to enjoy a few more hours of relaxation in the gardens of the Real Bosco; the management has thus decided to extend the opening hours of Porta Grande and Porta Piccola until 22 pm; after 20 pm only the Gardens around the Reggia and the Belvedere will be accessible, with the opening of the Tisaneria.
The Museum will also remain open on Monday 15 August.
