The Civil Protection of the Campania Region has issued a yellow weather warning for rain and thunderstorms valid throughout the region from midnight until 23:59 pm tomorrow, Thursday 1 September.
Sudden thunderstorms are expected, characterized by rapid evolution, also accompanied by lightning, hail and gusts of wind. The precipitation could also be very intense.
Among the possible risks associated with the forecast weather scenario, phenomena such as flooding, rising water levels of watercourses, possible rockfalls and occasional landslides linked to particularly fragile conditions of the territory are indicated. The Civil Protection of the Campania Region recommends that the competent bodies “implement all measures aimed at preventing and combating the phenomena, in line with the respective municipal plans”.
It is recommended to “pay attention to public greenery, for the possible falling of branches or trees as well as to the correct maintenance of structures exposed to atmospheric stress”.
