Whirlpool Naples, Fiom: “The solution for via Argine cannot wait”.
"In yesterday's meeting with the Prefect of Naples, the Campania Region and the Ministry of Economic Development on the former Whirlpool dispute in Naples, we acquired three fundamental points. The conference of services will deliberate by August 25 on the usability of the site in via Argine; the Consortium through its leader Adler confirmed the industrial plan, which will be integrated, and the interest in acquiring the plant and all the workers of the former Whirlpool; and finally, the commitment was confirmed, a priority for us, that all the parties involved will work on a single agreement that contains the path and treatment of the workers as a premise for the delivery of the site".
This was declared in a joint note by Barbara Tibaldi, national secretary of Fiom-Cgil and responsible for household appliances, and Rosario Rappa, responsible for Southern Italy for the national Fiom-Cgil. “We shared with the institutions the need to work on an agreement within the first 10 days of September – they add -. After the meetings with the workers, which took place today, we confirm our support for the path that will not see us tolerate any postponement or delay. The solution to the former Whirlpool dispute in Naples, after three years, can no longer have waiting times”.
