At the Poggioreale Cemetery in Naples, access will resume on September 12th.
“As agreed with Mayor Gaetano Manfredi who had guaranteed his commitment to the matter following the collapse that occurred”, it is written in a note from the Municipality of Naples, the councilor for Cemeteries Vincenzo Santagada announces that “starting from September 12th, mortuary police operations will resume in the Monumental Cemetery of Poggioreale and the site will be made accessible to citizens again (with the restrictions relating to the areas where the collapses occurred, delimited by fences and provided with special signs, and where the recovery operations of the bodies are underway)”.
As for the mortuary police operations, it is specified “which will be carried out at the same time as the activities of the previous and unfinished depositions of ashes blocked following the long seizure.
Interested parties must go to the Mortuary Registry Office, located in the structure called Grande Ipogeo in the Nuovissimo cemetery of Poggioreale, equipped with the necessary documentation (cremation report, burial permit and stamped cremation decree) in order to book the operation to be carried out".
