A new multipurpose field will be inaugurated tomorrow in the Parco Verde of Caivano, a district known for the suffocating presence of organized crime. The field is the flagship of the project “La bellezza necessario”, conceived by Uisp Campania and financed by the Fondazione Con il Sud.
The project aims to regenerate abandoned spaces and places in the area through social sport, as a driver of community participation processes. “We are inaugurating not only a multipurpose sports field, but an outpost of redemption and rebirth in one of the most frontier places of the Metropolitan city of Naples”, explains Antonio Marciano, president of Uisp Campania.
“A place - adds - in which through sport we plan to bring together skills, activate synergies; with the aim of transmitting a series of values for the personal and collective growth of citizenship. We are proud and at the same time honored to be the instrument to facilitate, with our know-how, and our skills, the associations of the territory to be active citizenship, bringing social value and safeguards of legality and redevelopment of the territories. I thank Fondazione Con il Sud for the splendid work that it is carrying out in the South of Italy and specifically for having given us the opportunity to achieve all this.
I thank the Municipality of Caivano, which was among the first municipalities in Italy to demonstrate how, if institutions and the third sector co-program and co-design, innovative, fascinating and socially impactful paths can be built. Now let's fill the field on Viale Tulipano with content and activities". The event is scheduled to begin at 16 pm, with the ribbon cutting in the presence of local institutions. From that moment, social and sports activities will begin with the associations in the area, Asd Phoenix Caivano and Pallacanestro Jirafa Caivano. An informal meeting is also planned with Enzo Falco, mayor of Caivano, Lucia Fortini, councilor for Schools of the Campania Region, Antonio Marciano, regional president of Uisp Campania, Francesco Farinaro, president of Juvecaserta Basket, Marco Dell'Isola, rector of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Antonio Maria Cavallo, commander of the Caivano company, Angelo Spinillo, bishop of Aversa. At 17.30 pm there will be a refreshment offered by the volunteers of the association “Un'infanzia da vivere”.
In case of bad weather, the initiative will be held indoors, in the premises of the association “Un'infanzia da vivere”, located near the multipurpose field.
