“Calling Your Name”, the new single by singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Caterina Barbieri aka MISSINCAT, will be released on October 14th. The artist, originally from Milan, has lived in Berlin for several years where she has become a cult phenomenon on the German indie scene.

“Calling Your Name”, recorded and produced by Caterina Barbieri herself, develops around warm rhythmic sounds and euphonic voices, to conclude in a whirlwind of synths and string instruments.

If life is a succession of doors that open and close, with people who sometimes help you pass and others who deny you access, then MISSINCAT in her new single speaks to those who hinder her. But her request to be able to shine (“…oh, let me shine”) without asking permission therefore indicates the inner conviction that she is on the right path, regardless of what others think.

With the single “Calling Your Name” MISSINCAT also announces the release of a songbook scheduled for next December, in which she will make accessible for the first time on paper a collection of eleven songs from her discography: in lyrics and chords, in writing and image. Biographical notes

MISSINCAT, stage name of Caterina Barbieri, has been living in Berlin since 2007. With four albums and an EP, she has a loyal fan base and a permanent place in the German indie scene. The artist, capable of reinventing herself with each of her releases, knows how to convey a story and her own musicality to each work; at the center, however, is always her unmistakable voice, delicate and energetic at the same time. Caterina Barbieri has her roots in the Milanese music scene, playing bass and writing songs in the all-female band Vertigini, thanks to which she tours Italy. After moving to the artists' mecca, Berlin, she made her solo debut with "Back On My Feet" (2009): her first single, "Missincat", immediately entered the AirPlay charts and critics immediately appreciated her work. In 2011, her second album "WOW" was released, which contains the successful duet "Capita" with the Italian singer-songwriter Dente, followed by "Wirewalker" (2015).

In 2017 she released the EP “Forces”: five tracks with five different artists. MISSINCAT’s most successful song, “Made Of Stone”, is part of this EP. With her latest album, “10” (2019), the artist sings entirely in her native language for the first time, creating a warm and timeless indie pop. MISSINCAT has numerous tours in Europe, the United States and Australia under her belt, a participation at SXSW in Austin and has opened concerts for The XX and Amy Winehouse, whom she accompanied on her German tour in 2008. Caterina Barbieri also works as a producer (for Jessica Einaudi, among others) and writes instrumental music for film productions.
