Mondragone. In recent days, as part of initiatives pre-arranged by the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Caserta to combat illicit trafficking in the area and following targeted information-investigative activities, the financial police of the Sessa Aurunca branch discovered an illegal plantation of Indian hemp, cleverly hidden on a piece of land in the countryside of Mondragone.
As many as 103 plants were identified inside a greenhouse and seized, for a total of over 66 kg of product, part of which was already dried and ready to be placed on the black market.
The owner of the land (a 32-year-old man living in Mondragone already known to the police) was arrested red-handed for the crime of production, possession and illegal trade of narcotic substances.
During the subsequent search of his home, in fact, the financial police found a further 2,00 grams of dried marijuana and also a precision scale.
Associated with the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, the magistrate on duty, after validating the arrest, ordered that the man be taken to house arrest pending trial with a direct trial.
