A Pompei – as part of a service aimed at combating weapons rackets – the Carabinieri of the Torre Annunziata company arrested 3 people. They are a 44-year-old, a 24-year-old and a 25-year-old.
They are all of Roma origin and are already known to the police. The military searched their home and found an arsenal ready to be used. A gun 7,65 caliber Beretta, a “Smith & Wesson” model 357 magnum revolver, a 12-gauge Franchi shotgun, a 4,5 caliber air rifle with the serial number erased and 2 sawn-off barrels without serial numbers.
But it doesn't end there because the military, during the operations, also found a metal knuckleduster, 172 cartridges of various calibers and 2 radio transmitters.
The two arrested are in prison Poggioreale while the woman was transferred to the prison in Pozzuoli. Investigations are underway by the Carabinieri with the weapons that will be subjected to checks to verify their possible use in bloody deeds or other crimes.
