RA.ID Festivals 2022, Silence, Physiognomy and Traces of Dance at Palazzo Ducale
Three companies on stage Friday 14th and Sunday 16th October
The season ends on October 23 with two performances on the same evening
Solofra (Avellino), October 12, 2022 Last appointments with Ra.ID Festival 2022, the interregional contemporary dance festival, created with the support of the Municipality of Solofra and the recognition of the MiC. On the horizon are the last three dates that include five shows all staged at Palazzo Ducale Orsini in Solofra.
Friday 14th at 20.30:XNUMX pm opens the last cycle of Artagarage performances with Silence, concept and choreography by Emma Cianchi. Dancers: Maria Anzivino, Ginevra Cecere, Marcella Martusciello, Armando Rossi. Live Sound Concept Design Dario Casillo and Live Technical Design Eugenio Fabiani.
White space, wide, silent. Space defined by the actions of the performers intent on perceiving themselves in relation to the other. A continuous search and support made of swirling interweavings and growing dynamics, an elegant and powerful flow of dance, but at the same time sweet and refined, gives life to the sound. The performers and the sound designers merge and become part of a single creative process balanced between live performance and installation. The choreography creates a soundscape that interacts and surprises, the movements meet ever-different sounds. The soundscape is made up of the surrounding external noises captured at the moment of the action.
These noises, sounds of silence, are modified and altered through a retroactive algorithmic processing of the signal with a dynamic and interactive system that involves sound, environment, body and movement in an instant compositional process acted out live. For this reason Silence is a choreographic and sound performance consisting each time of a unique and unrepeatable act.
On Sunday 16 October the contemporary language will first be that of Petranura Danza with “Fisiognomica” (at 18pm) and followed by Campania Danza (at 19pm) with “Tracce di Danza”.
In “Fisiognomica” choreographers Salvatore Romania and Laura Odierna inspire their research on Leonardo da Vinci’s passion for studying the movements of the human soul. A portrait becomes a door to open towards the depths and colors and brush strokes a code of understanding the self, a message on the canvas to be interpreted.
The artist penetrates reality, revealing its secrets, giving our gaze the time it needs to reach the depths. Here, dance becomes a dynamic and processual relationship, which always oscillates between the visible and the invisible.
Through a synthesis of technical ability and introspection, the choreographer aims to make virtues, weaknesses, vanities and seductions visible and perceptible. A thousand faces, and yet a thousand different states of mind, a succession of dissimilar moments in each face. Dancers: Salvatore Romania, Sonia Mingo, Arabella Scalisi, Francesco Bax.
Immediately after the unusual terpsichorean glossary of the memory of Campania Danza which, with Tracce di Danza, entrusts the body and its movement with the need to give voice to memory. The past is increasingly being reduced to a list of files, schematically stored in folders.
And when you feel the need to recover those traces you realize you have lost the sense of what you have experienced. Dance has the task of shaking everyone from the oblivion of the network, of putting human senses back at the center and giving them back that task of being an immaterial trace of memory. Step by step, note by note, word by word. The choreography is by Antonello Apicella, the lighting design by Virna Prescenzo. Performers: Alfonsina Beatrice, Simone Centanni, Olimpia Milione, Melania Nicastro, Loris Vestuto.
Last double appointment on the 23rd with HUNT in “If not now never” – in the bicentenary of “L'Infinito” by Giacomo Leopardi, Loris Petrillo conceives a tribute to the poet and the immense artistic and human legacy he left us – and with Alessia Muscariello, spokesperson on the scene with “Solo” of the C.Re.A.Re. Campania Project, a Regional Artistic Residence Center of Campania that offers artists an opportunity to compare and develop their work.
