The episode occurred last week in a first-grade classroom at the “Viola Marchesini” institute and was filmed by another student, who shared it on social media, and was published on the website of 'La Voce di Rovigo'. The teacher was reportedly hit twice, first in the head and then in an eye.
The director of the institute, in addition to the disciplinary measures against the boys, notified the police and summoned the parents. “As teachers, more than alarmed, we are distraught from an educational point of view, because the kids did not perceive the negative value of their gesture, they reacted as if it were a game”.
This was stated by the director of the Viola Marchesini Technical Institute in Rovigo, Isabella Sgarbi, commenting on the episode of shooting with an air pistol by some students against a teacher.
“These were – he continued – first-grade students, so young people, who also reported themselves. They don’t come from families with problems, they are normal kids. They just took it as a game. But they mocked a public official, they didn’t understand the scale of values”.
Boys suspended, police also notified
In addition to the disciplinary measures against the boy who shot and the one who filmed, the institute will hold some educational meetings with the collaboration of the Police Headquarters "which will be of a re-educational nature," Sgarbi specified. "We are a technological institute, and we teach the correct use of technology. The kids also take lessons in law and civic education, and we must insist on this."
