The latest evidence is being sought but also Alessio Pica's accomplice, the 26-year-old boss of the Sanità district, has been identified by the Carabinieri.
The two on December 4 of last year set fire to the rebel pusher Antonio Storaro, who wanted to get out of the drug dealing business. Pica, who was already in prison for other crimes, was reached yesterday by a precautionary order with the accusation of attempted murder.
The repentant Daniele Pnadolfi said of him in one of his reports Alessio Pica “has a drug dealing square behind the San Gennaro dei Poveri hospital and uses a boy called 'o biond who collaborates with him in illegal activities. I specify that Alessio Pica was supplied with drugs by the Sequino clan, but at a certain point he decided not to get supplies from them anymore. This was the reason (omissis) he tried to hurt him by mistake hitting a boy called Yunes who lives in vico Principe della Sanità.
I remember that when I was released in December 2017, I saw 'o biond come to Antonio Vastarella's house, who told him that from that moment they would have to buy the grass from him because he had stocked up on it. Otherwise he would have the square closed. 'O biond” replied that he would tell Alessio and then let him know”.
The discovery of the attempted murder, which at first had been passed off as an accident, was made thanks to a series of interceptions carried out by the Carabinieri under the coordination of the DDA of Napoli.
Pica would have met Storaro in St. Vincent Square under a pretext and then poured gasoline on him and set him on fire. The 26-year-old allegedly committed the crimes by violating the house arrest he was under for a drug-related incident. Storaro, who was helped by his mother who put out the flames in time, was then admitted to the Major Burns Unit of the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples for burns to multiple parts of his body.
Storaro would have been punished for his desire to change his life and stop selling drugs in the drug dealing square managed by Alessio Pica which, as can be read in the pages of the provision executed yesterday, is located behind the San Gennaro dei Poveri hospital, located on the street of the same name, in the heart of the Sanità district.
When Antonio Storaro arrived at the Cardarelli hospital, on the night between December 3 and 4 of last year, he said he had caused the injuries by accident. The investigations instead confirmed that Pica, at that time under the alternative measure of house arrest, on the evening of December 4 had gone to Piazzetta San Vincenzo and had poured gasoline on and set fire to a man, later identified as Storaro, because – according to the source, we still read in the order signed by the investigating judge Lucia De Micco – the latter “he had decided to 'pull himself out' definitively of the drug dealing activity, controlled and managed by Pica himself, with whom he had collaborated until some time before”.
On December 6, the Carabinieri managed to contact Storaro's girlfriend who, after an initial moment of reticence, while specifying that she would not file any complaint, said that Storaro had recently decided to abandon the path of crime and wanted to start a new life by taking up the business of garage owner.
