Arte in Danza Award 2022: last weekend in the name of Tersicore at the San Giovanni Complex in Cava dei Tirreni. The étoile Giuseppe Picone after receiving the lifetime achievement award announces: “I will come back to you in March to present my first book”
The curtain falls on Arte in Danza, the seventh edition of the event scheduled at the Monumental Complex of San Giovanni in Cava dei Tirreni, sponsored by the Conseil International de La Danse of UNESCO, supported by the AICS of Salerno, under the artistic direction of the masters Pina Testa and Stefano Angelini (étoile and soloist of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples).
On Saturday 19th at 18pm the most representative schools of the Campania region will perform, confirming the fact that the comparison, mixed with the staging, constitute the lifeblood for these young people who have decided to feed on this art.
On Sunday 20th at 18.30 pm the event ends with “Dance in the World”, a journey through countries, traditions and cultures, languages and expressive forms that come together on the stage.
“Through quality dance and exceptional guests, since 2015 we have tried to bring the public closer to this wonderful art. The numbers tell us the story of our success: we have always sold out and the demand has been so high that we have had to add more shows on the same day on several occasions. Not without sacrifice, we have succeeded in this endeavor: dance has won. We are already working on a new edition of the Award with the intervention of a new star in the sector, who will be a messenger for all our talents, that this art, if practiced with rigor and continuity, leads to the big stage”, say the artistic directors.
Meanwhile, the star Giuseppe Picone, awarded during the gala evening with the recognition for his career, announced that he will return very soon.
“On my birthday, February 21st, my first book “Giuseppe Picone una vita in ballo” will be published by Formamentis and with the precious preface of Maestro Beppe Menegatti, director and husband of Carla Fracci to whom I am bound by an immense affection as well as many memories of professional and private life. I will be happy to return here in March to tell you, an extraordinary audience that applauds dance and a territory that is full of talent, something more about this first work of mine”, promised the international dance star who, having entered the Ballet School of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples at just nine years old, was chosen by Fracci herself at twelve for Menegatti's ballet “Nijinsky”.
Fans eagerly await the signing date to take home the “Salerno” dedication from their favourite.
