Finance officers from the Caserta Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza delivered 81.000 liters of energy products from operations combating the illicit trafficking of mineral oils and petroleum products evaded tax to the Naples Provincial Command of the Fire Brigade and the Molise branch of the Order of Malta – Italian Rescue Corps.
The assets had been seized by the military of the Economic and Financial Police Unit in two separate operations which had allowed them to identify systematic mechanisms of smuggling and excise duty evasion.
At the end of the investigations, the Public Prosecutor's Offices of Naples and Nola, competent for the seizures, ordered, at the request of the Guardia di Finanza, the delivery of the product to the Neapolitan firefighters and to the Order of Malta for use within their institutional purposes. A significant operation, it is emphasized, in a period characterized by the increase in the price of energy products.
