The investigation will establish the causes of the accident and the death of the five boys which occurred this night on the outskirts of Roma.
The incident occurred around 2.30:XNUMX a.m. in Fonte Nuova on Via Nomentana. A sixth person who was on board the car was transported to Sant'Andrea Hospital.
According to an initial assessment, the cause of the accident was the speed at which the car was traveling. The victims are three boys, all 22 years old, and two girls, 17 and 18 years old. One of the boys who died on impact was probably driving because the car is registered to their mother.
The Tivoli Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation, currently against unknown persons, in relation to the accident. The investigation has been entrusted to the Carabinieri who will have to ascertain the reasons why the Fiat 500 overturned, perhaps after hitting a lamppost. Four people died instantly, a fifth died after being taken to the hospital. A sixth young man was transferred in red code.
Autopsies will be ordered on the bodies of the five boys. At the moment the bodies are in the forensic medicine morgue of Sapienza. The Tivoli Prosecutor's Office is investigating for road homicide against unknown persons.
The deceased, all from Fonte Nuova, are Paolo Valerio, Alessio Guerrieri, Simone Ramazzotti, Flavia Troisi and Giulia Sclavo. The injured, Leonardo Chiapparelli, resident in Guidonia Montecelio, is currently hospitalized with a reserved prognosis. At the site of the accident, via Nomenatana, surveys are underway by the Carabinieri of the Fonte Nuova station and the radiomobile section of the Monterotondo company.
According to initial investigations by the Carabinieri, the Fiat 500, owned by the mother of one of the young people, overturned, first hitting a lamppost and then a tree, but the exact reconstruction of the dynamics is still being examined by the military.
. According to initial reports, the young people had been in one of the Fonte Nuova clubs near the scene of the tragedy until late at night and it is likely that they were speeding. In addition to the reports, the Carabinieri are also acquiring the numerous cameras in the area and at the moment the involvement of other cars is excluded. The bodies of the victims were taken to the ROME “La Sapienza” forensic medicine morgue for subsequent autopsy tests.
