Death threats and private violence against journalist Grazioli: following opposition to archiving, referral to trial ordered.
Simonetti Biagio had been denounced by the journalist Somma Giuseppe Grazioli for aggravated defamation, death threats and private violence.
On the evening of June 20, 2021, around 23.30:XNUMX p.m., the journalist was first seriously insulted, defamed and threatened with death on Facebook live (where Simonetti claimed to have a gun), then he was tracked down in a restaurant and upon leaving, on board an Audi, in Nocera Inferiore, he was pulled over and forced to stop. Only the intervention of Simonetti's wife avoided the worst.
After that, they resumed the insults against Grazioli with other Facebook live broadcasts. At the end of the preliminary investigations, the prosecutor had requested the archiving of the proceedings due to the groundlessness of the notitia criminis.
Following opposition to the archiving by lawyer Massimo Viscusi, the GIP ordered the forced indictment of the suspect for private violence and death threats with an attached referral to trial for September 26, 2023 in the bunker room of the Nocera Inferiore court.
The charge of aggravated defamation has been temporarily removed from another proceeding, the opposition to which is set for May 17.
