On Saturday afternoon, officers from the Campania Crime Prevention Department, during their territorial control service, while passing through via Posillipo, were alerted by a pharmacist who indicated a person in the distance as being responsible for a theft committed last March 6 in his pharmacy.
The police officers reached the man who, after getting into a parked car, suddenly started moving, hitting one of the officers who had gotten out of the patrol car.
A short chase ensued which ended at the end of Via Ferdinando Russo, near Riva Fiorita, where the fugitive abandoned the vehicle in an attempt to continue his escape on foot but was stopped.
Furthermore, the operators, thanks to the viewing of the images from the pharmacy's video surveillance system, ascertained that the man had committed the theft in the commercial activity last March 6.
VP, a 48-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record, was arrested for assault and resisting a public official.
