Thrills and excitement at the Excelsior cinema in Ischia where the great singer-songwriter, poet and writer, Roberto Vecchioni, with a passionate Lectio Magistralis literally enchanted the over four hundred students of the “Buchner” State High School present in the hall.
Students who listened with great interest to Vecchioni's lesson, giving him a real ovation when at the end of his speech he sang "Call me love again". Roberto Vecchioni, who also presented his latest book to the students, entitled "Lezioni di volo e di arrivo", said that his love for the study of the classics and Greek civilization was born on the island of Ischia, and precisely in the Municipality of Lacco Ameno, where at the age of 11 he was on vacation and had the opportunity to see the Nestor's Cup discovered in those days by the archaeologist Giorgio Buchner.
The Principal of the High School, Assunta Barbieri, expressed great satisfaction for the success of the historic event. “It was a beautiful morning – Barbieri declared -, we attended a lesson that I personally would have always wanted to listen to as a student and I feel like my wish was answered. A very intense journey, the May of books, has come to an end.
It was truly an extraordinary May that this morning ended with this Lectio Magistralis that enchanted us all. I thank Roberto Vecchioni, a man of enormous culture and immense human depth, for the beautiful words he dedicated to all of us.
To make this morning happen, thanks to the contribution of Lucia Fortini's Department of Social Policies, we donated Vecchioni's book to all the kids, which they read and analyzed and who this morning were able to benefit from this truly immense Lectio Magistralis".
