The day of July 5th at the Campania Teatro Festival directed by Ruggero Cappuccio is entirely dedicated to the inauguration of the Literature Section, curated by Silvio Perrella.
At Villa Floridiana in Naples, at 18 pm at the Verzura theatre, Luigi and Martino lo Cascio will bring to life “Fratelli in versi”, the first event of the series organised by Vesuvioteatro with the coordination of Brigida Corrado.
Luigi Lo Cascio, an actor of ever greater intensity, loves and cultivates the arts of reading and writing. Martino Lo Cascio, a psychologist who is very attentive to the social aspect of communication, loves to write books that baptize communities of people and ideas. They meet, despite being “di… diverse” in their features and gestures, on the roads of poetry. Two brothers, and it is no coincidence that “Two” is the title of this year’s Literature section, a common thread to testify to the fundamental value of relationships, without which, as Silvio Perrella lucidly writes when introducing the review, “one is nothing, less than one, less than zero”.
The events of the Literature section will continue at the same time and in the same place until July 9, the closing date of the Festival. After the Lo Cascio brothers, “I can once again be another”, to use the enlightening expression of Arthur Rimbaud: “Another who is in me and another who is not me and who I pursue through the streets of the world”.
And so, as per the curator's happy intuition, "it can be one of the two parts of a couple, composed of two linguistic beings forced into exile, but strenuous and constant inhabitants of their native language. It can be a transfer of oneself from poetry to prose and vice versa; knowing full well that words, depending on their torsion and disposition, lead to unexpected territories. It can be the long cohabitation with a poet-master, to go and visit in his house, studying his inclinations and passions, becoming his interpreters, dialoguing in the infinity of voices. It can be taking on a language different from our own and trying and trying again to put it back in order under the spans of a building that must be rebuilt every time from scratch and with infinite patience”.
They could be, therefore, Paolo Lagazzi and Attilio Bertolucci (July 6), Rosita Copioli and Giacomo Leopardi (July 7), Elisa Ruotolo and Antonia Pozzi (July 8), Carmen Yanez and Luis Sepulveda (July 9). Two, then. That two from which, as Perrella explains, some contemporary physicists derive the origin of the world; the first, necessary step towards the relationship. “The other is with me like a shadow; follows me; chases me; observes me; suddenly leaves me alone”.
