An invitation to deduce from the regional prosecutor's office for the Campania of Court of Auditors it was notified this morning by the Guardia di Finanza to the governor of Campania Vincenzo De Luca.
The deputy attorneys general Davide Vitale and Mauro Senatore are contesting the President of the Campania Region and five other members of the Region's crisis unit for financial damages of over 3,7 million euros relating to the digital certificate of anti-covid vaccination – the so-called smart card – whose distribution was subsequently suspended.
The governor is charged with 25% of the overall damage, equal to over 928 thousand euros. According to the Regional Prosecutor's Office for Campania of the Court of Auditors, the decision to adopt a digital vaccination certificate, the so-called smart card, by the Campania Region has proven to be an unnecessary expense for regional finances.
According to the accounting court, in fact - which considers the matter to be the responsibility of the national legislator and the central administration - the distribution (then suspended) of smart cards, which dates back to May 2021, is subsequent to the introduction of the green pass.
The invitations to deduct from the regional prosecutor's office for Campania of the Court of Auditors were issued for the president of the Campania Region de Luca and also for Italo Giulivo (coordinator of the regional Crisis Unit for the Covid-19 epidemiological emergency); Antonio Postiglione (member and deputy of the Crisis Unit) and the other members Massimo Bisogno, Ugo Trama and Roberta Santaniello.
The decision of the Campania Region to provide Campania citizens with a digital certificate of anti-covid vaccination on a smart card dates back to February 2021. All recipients of the provision will now be able to be heard by the deputy prosecutors in charge of the proceedings and present defense briefs in support of their actions.
